Digital Engagement & Communications Assistant

Part-time (2–3 days per week) | Hybrid | Norfolk

Salary: £25,500 FTE (pro rata: £10,200–£15,300 per annum)
Contract: Permanent
Location: Hybrid – Sculthorpe Moor, Norfolk (office-based one day per week, flexible remote working for remaining hours)

The Hawk and Owl Trust is looking for a Digital Engagement and Communications Assistant to help inspire and grow our audiences through engaging online content and promotion of our public events.

About the role

This varied, hands-on role supports the planning and promotion of our public events programme while leading on social media, website content, and digital and printed communications. You’ll play a key role in strengthening our online presence, engaging members and supporters, and helping more people connect with our conservation work.

Key responsibilities

  • Promote and support delivery of the Trust’s public events programme
  • Plan, create, and schedule engaging content across social media platforms
  • Update and manage website content, including news and wildlife features
  • Produce e-newsletters, wildlife updates, and support member communications
  • Work closely with staff and volunteers to gather stories and content
  • Monitor and respond to digital engagement, particularly during busy seasonal periods

About you

You’ll have:

  • Experience managing social media and creating engaging digital content
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Confidence using websites, CMS platforms, and digital tools
  • Good organisational skills and a flexible, collaborative approach
  • A genuine enthusiasm for wildlife conservation and the values of the Trust

Experience in the conservation, environmental, or charity sector is desirable but not essential.

Working pattern

  • 2 or 3 days per week (depending on organisational need and season)
  • Office hours: 08:00–16:00
  • Some flexibility required to support events and time-sensitive content
