Norwich Cathedral Peregrines Activity Log 29/06/2019

Gorgeous day at the watch point but very hot! Even the peregrines were keeping cool in the shade of the spire!

Weather was sunny all day.

9.35 A juvenile is flying around and lands on the North West of the spire.

10.00 There is an adult peregrine tucked around the corner of the middle window crocket to the West, plucking prey.

10.09 GA does a food pass with a juvenile who takes it to the North East pinnacle. GA then lands on the West side plucking window.

10.11 The male lands in the nest box.

10.16 Two juveniles fly low over the cloisters.

10.18 There is a juvenile on the North West turret with food and an adult is spotted by the North plucking window.

11.15 Male flies around the spire and then heads off to the East.

11.35 Juvenile flies to the North side of the spire.

11.50 Two juveniles fly South West.

11.55 A juvenile lands on the crocket below the top window on the East side, before flying off and landing 2 down from the West middle window.

12.17 GA brings in more prey and two juveniles fly up together for a food pass. However there is a scuffle over the food and it drops down onto the cloisters. The juveniles scream at there parents to get it for them bit the adults take no notice. The juveniles then land on the turrets briefly.

12.23 A juvenile lands 2 down from the West side middle window.

12.29 One juvenile flies South.

12.53 Male flies around the spire and then off to the South.

13.33 One juvenile lands 2 down from the middle window on the North East side.

13.41 Male returns, flies around the spire and then heads off East. He then lands on the North side near the top of the spire.

13.48 Juvenile on the North East side flies around before landing on the North middle window.

13.53 Male flies South West.

14.37 Male returns, flies around the spire before heading off West.

14.45 Male returns again and lands on the North side. A juvenile flies off to the North West.

14.48 L7 flies South, gets mobbed by some gulls and then flies back to the nest box.

15.16 Two juveniles play fight around the spire and head East. GA and the male are spotted flying high above the cathedral.

15.31 A juvenile lands 2 down from the nest box on the East side.

15.54 Two juveniles and two adults are flying around the cathedral. The juveniles are play fighting to the West of the spire, while another one heads off East/

16.00 The adults mob a buzzard South of the spire.
