Norwich Cathedral Peregrine Activity Log- 23/06/19

A busy day at the watchpoint and the Bishops garden lots of visitors and plenty of peregrine activity!

Weather warm and sunny.

9.00 I Juvenile on the next box, the male briefly visited the box and then flew off.

9.53 The Juvenile flew off.

10.02 1 adult lands on the golden bales and goes on the N side.

10.10 1 juvenile lands 2 down on the W, GA flying over the close and eventually flew off SW.

10.13 Juvenile (YL) lands on the top window and starts preening.

10.27 GA 3 crockets down on the W male flew W.

10.30 GA flew N.

10.34 GA on the golden bales.

10.36 1 juvenile flew low across the front of the spire, 1 Buzzard is seen riding thermals to the NW.

10.37 GA flew low to the E.

10.39 1 Juvenile flew out and landed 3 down below the top window. GA flew past and then flew off SE. The juveniles were calling.

10.40 YL flew around the spire, GA flew with YL then heads of SE. YL returns to the spire 3 crockets down from the top window.

10.55 YL flew SE.

10.59 2 birds 1 adult and 1 juvenile seen flying around.

11.01 YL lands 1 crocket above the top left middle window.

11.17 Male flew E with GA.

12.00 YS lands low on the naïve roof to the East.

12.02 YL flew W.

12.05 GA lands on a crocket to the right of the box.

12.08 GA flew off E.

12.20 1 Juvenile lands3 down on the NW.

12.30 I juvenile 4 crockets from the top on the E. GA lands 2 down on the W. Another Juvenile 3 down from the middle window on the W.

12.53 Juvenile flew off SE, another juvenile flying overhead.

13.05 Juvenile lands on the plucking window.

13.09 GA flew W.

13.11 Juvenile flew S with GA.

13.20 Male lands on the nest platform.

13.40 Male flew overhead then W with a juvenile which is calling.

14.00 Over the close a juvenile flew in carrying prey and landed on the W pinnacle. The male landed momentarily on the E and then flew off.

14.13 GA landed 2 crockets down on the W. Another Juvenile landed on the nest platform then went in.

14.19 Male landed on golden bales, 1 juvenile on the nest, another 4 crockets above the nest on the E. The third is feeding on the pinnacle.

14.45 Male stoops to the NW and then flies SE.

14.50, Male and GA seen flying together.

14.57 Juvenile from 4 crockets above the nest flew off.

14.59 Juvenile landed 4 crockets above the nest box in the middle of the spire. Male landed 1 crocket below the middle window on the W.

15.00 Juvenile from 4 crockets up flew off.

15.34 Juvenile flew off from the pinnacle and then the male landed on the pinnacle.

15.37 Juvenile (L7) lands 3 up on the W. Male feeding on the remains.

15.44 All birds flying over the close, Juveniles squawks and one takes some prey N. GA landed 2 down on the W. L7 returns to the same position.

15.50 Male cleaning his beak 2 crockets down from top window.

16.00 No change.
