Norwich Cathedral Peregrines Activity Log 18/06/2019

The juveniles are certainly getting more confident, especially L7 who tried his luck chasing gulls and pigeons today! GA was doing superb food passes with the juveniles, who seem to be mastering the skills very well.

Weather was sunny in the morning, overcast and finally rain in the afternoon.

9.45 GA brings prey to the golden bales, then flies down to the plucking window to prepare food. She then does a food pass with one of the juveniles who takes it to the West cloisters to eat it.

9.59 GA is 3 crockets down from the middle window. A juvenile is seen 5 crockets down from the plucking window on the East side.

10.02 GA flies off around the cathedral and disappears from sight.

10.45 Male appears from the top of the North spire and tries to catch a stray pigeon low down but misses. He then flies off West.

11.54 GA flies in with prey to the golden bales and plucks it. A juvenile flies off and lands on the South East pinnacle, before heading off to the East.

11.59 Another juvenile flies about the spire before also heading off East.

12.28 A juvenile is spotted 6 crockets down from the nest box.

12.39 The male flies in and lands 2 crockets down from the top on the East side.

12.41 The juvenile YL lands on the South East pinnacle crenellations.

12.49 YL flies off around to the East and GA flies after her to do a food pass. YL returns with the food to the North East pinnacle.

12.51 Male flies down to the nest box briefly and drifts around the spire and out of sight. GA returns and lands 3 crockets down on the East side.

13.05 YL flies around the spire to the North side.

13.34 One juvenile is spotted 2 crockets up from the bottom of the spire on the East side. Another juvenile is seen on the North East pinnacle by a volunteer.

14.13 A juvenile returns to the spire and flies around to the North East pinnacle.

14.18 Another juvenile flies low to the West.

14.30 A juvenile flies around to the North East pinnacle.

14.36 The juvenile on the North East pinnacle flies to the West again and circles around the spire. L7 lands on the South East pinnacle in full view.

14.41 The flying juvenile lands 2 crockets down from the plucking window.

14.45 L7 flies to the South, mobs a gull, chases after 2 pigeons and then lands above the nest box on the East side!

15.21 GA returns to the North side plucking with food and plucks it.

15.35 L7 flies up and lands on the plucking window level on the East side.

15.40 All 3 juveniles play fight in the air, one lands above the nest box on the East side again.

16.00 The male returns and lands below the plucking window.
