Norwich Cathedral Peregrines Activity Log 14/06/2019

What an exciting day for the watch point, not only were the juveniles flying confidently but also play fighting in mid-air! There was also some drama mid afternoon, when one of the juveniles and the adult male knocked a buzzard out of the sky. The buzzard ended up in the Wensum river but was resuced by both the public and volunteers. The bird is making a recovery at a wildlife hospital!

The blog is also slightly longer due to the watch point staying open later this evening and volunteers arriving early to get some amazing pictures of the peregrines!

Weather was mostly overcast with a few light rain showers and sunny spells, plus a breeze.

14.03 A juvenile flies low over the watch point, then out of the sight over the cloisters.

14.11 The adult male and a female juvenile mob a buzzard and the juvenile scores a direct hit on the back of the intruder.
