Norwich Cathedral Peregrines Activity Log- 20/06/2019

A great day at the spire with lots of action and great views of the adults perched on the spire. Weather dull and overcast.

9.30 Chicks unattended. Male 2 crockets down in the middle of the spire.

9.50 Male flew off.

10.15 Male landed 1 crocket below the top window. GA 1 crocket above the nest being very vocal.

10.20 GA flew off. Male is preening.

10.26 Male flew off.

10.29 GA lands 2 down from top of the spire.

10.36 GA flew down and lands on the window arch above the nest.

10.44 Male flew in and lands 2 down from the top, GA squawks.

10.49 Male flies about and lands on top of the spire the cache in the golden bales. GA squawks the male finds some prey from earlier and plucks and then feeds himself.

10.59 Male brings in prey to the nest and feeds the chicks. GA flies off to the E.

11.05 GA lands 2 down from the top.

11.24 Male flew off.

11.26 male lands on crocket above the nest.

11.44 GA flew off.

11.58 GA lands 2 down in the middle

12.30 GA flies off.

12.49 GA lands on top of the spire with freshly caught prey (pigeon) and starts plucking.

12.55 GA flew off.

13.05 GA returns and lands 2 crockets down in the middle of the spire.

13.22 Male alarms and chases something (we cant see what from our angle) GA joins the pursuit.

13.25 Male lands on the top camera, GA lands 2 down from the top.

13.33 GA flew off.

13.51 Chicks calling, male flew off.

13.53 Male lands 2 from the top.

14.20 Male flew off.

14.26 Male lands 2 down, GA lands with prey (pigeon) on top of the spire.

14.41 GA takes prey to nest and feeds the chicks.

14.56 GA flew out with prey. Male still 2 crockets down.

15.05 Male flew E alarming and mobs a Buzzard. GA cruises over the close still carrying her prey.

13.12 Buzzard riding thermals to the S. GA lands on top of the spire.

13.15 GA alarming and chases 2 Buzzards over the close. The male flies by and heads off W.

15.16 Male lands 2 crockets down from the top. GA flies in knocks him off and takes his position the male goes to perch on the N side. GA cleans her feet.

15.19 Male mobs a gull to the W.

15.22 Male lands 4 down from the top window.

16.00 As we close for the day GA is still perched 2 crockets down from the top and the male is still 4 down from the top window.

16.45 After a bit of late work I was lucky to see a food pass!!!! The male passed food to GA which she then took to the nest.
