Weather- overcast 9.30 1 juvenile on the edge of the nest box, it then flew off calling. 9.40 Male on top of the window arch above the nest platform. 1 juvenile 4 down on the W. 10.00 Juvenile landed on the crocket on the right-hand side of the nest box and…

Norwich Cathedral Peregrines Activity Log 12/04/19

Light rain and overcast weather conditions.

9.30 GA incubating and male on W side of the spire out of sight from the WP.

11.10 Incubation change over! male takes over incubation duties and GA perches 6 crockets down on the W and starts preening.

12.05 Sparrowhawk seen flying over the close.

12.10 no change for the peregrines.

13.56 GA  takes flight over the Bishops garden hunting and then cruises aroud the close to the W.

14.12 The male flew off at speed to the S leaving the eggs unattended.

14.18 GA flys in at speed and goes straight to the box and starts incubating. The male returns shortly after carrying prey which he leaves on a crocket. He then hops across and perches 2 crockets down on the W.

14.33 Male flew off SE.

14.43 GA leaves eggs and lands on the top of the spire on the golden bales she is very vocal and then feeds on some scraps from the cache (larder).The male then enters the nest and takes over incubation duties he chats to the eggs. 

14.45 GA flies off N

13.03 2 Buzzards circling to teh SE of the close.

13.36 GA returns to the spire empty taloned she lands 5 crokets down on the W.

15.50 GA mobs a gull over the close to the SE she then goes directly to the nest box and takes over incubation duties from the male. The male lands 2 crockets down on the W and starts preening.

16.00 As we pack up there is no change.
