Norwich Cathedral Peregrines Activity Log 09/04/2019

Another exciting day! GA certainly did a lot of incubation, while the male stooped and patrolled quite a lot around the cathedral.

Weather was sunny and windy.

9.45 Male was 3 crockets down on the left of the spire, while GA was incubating.

10.03 GA moves off the eggs and eats some grit off the nest.

10.05 GA moves back onto the eggs and resumes incubation duties.

10.22 Male suddenly stoops to the South.

10.26 Male returns and lands on the 2nd crocket down of spire.

10.55 Male flies around the spire patrolling, and then stoops South again.

11.03 Male returns 2 crockets down on the West of spire yet again.

11.05 Male chases and mobs 2 gulls, then flies around the spire and then flies South again.

11.24 Male returns and lands 2 crockets down on the spire, the peregrine's favourite spot.

11.43 Male flies East, then returns shortly afterwards and lands 2 crockets down on the spire.

11.54 Male stoops South again.

12.00 Male returns, but this time with prey and lands on the North side of the spire.

12.33 The male then takes some prey to the plucking window on the East side of spire, then lands window next to nest.

12.36 Male then flies off to the South.

13.20 The Male returns 3 crockets down on the West side of the spire.

13.26 Male finally takes over incubation duties. A relieved GA flies West.

14.27 GA is spotted on the top of the spire plucking prey.

14.59 GA takes the prey and stores it on the West side of the spire.

15.30 GA perches on the West side of spire 2 crockets down and begins to preen.
