Take part in the Big Butterfly Count at Sculthorpe!

Are you taking part in this year's Big Butterfly Count? We’ve been out and about spotting butterflies on the Sculthorpe Reserve this week, all you need is a sharp eye and the free Big Butterfly Count app: https://bigbutterflycount.butterfly-conservation.org/.

Benjamin Vince managed to take some great shots of a Wall Butterfly (Lasiommata megera) and a Peacock Butterfly ( Aglais io). We’re very excited to have seen Wall Butterflies at Sculthorpe, these beautiful butterflies are in decline and are considered a high conservation priority!

Come and do some butterfly spotting of your own at Sculthorpe with your family. It’s a great Summer activity to enjoy together. We’d love to see your photos, and even your drawings!

Be sure to visit the official website to find out more about the Big Butterfly Count: https://bigbutterflycount.butterfly-conservation.org/. The website has lots of handy information helping you to identify and record your findings!
