Great Progress on New Sculthorpe Walkway
The new walkway joins onto the Woodland Loop trail
This week Sculthorpe found itself closing its doors after briefly reopening on the 3rd December. Wet weather made parts of the reserve unsafe for visitors, but some of the reserve's keen volunteers continued work on the new walkway by the Frank Jarvis Hide.

The last few nails were tapped in yesterday (Tuesday 08/12/20) joining the new walkway to the existing Woodland Loop. All that remains on the volunteer's todo list is to install essential safety features, such as handrails on the bridge, and finishing touches.
The walkway grants access to a corner of woodland between the Woodland Loop and the recently completed livestock building. With most of the reserve walkways situated in woodland, this new walkway will open up an entirely new aspect of the reserve to visitors.
