We’re delighted to start welcoming familiar faces back on to the Sculthorpe Reserve this week. We’re almost halfway through our first volunteer week since we went into lockdown. Although our doors are closed to the public for now, we are certainly in need of those extra capable hands that we have missed over the past few months.

With the safety and wellbeing of all our workforce in mind, we are introducing staff and volunteers in stages over the coming weeks. We have had to consider ways that mean shared areas like kitchens and toilets remain safe for everyone, and of course we have had to plan ahead for socially distant ways of working.

With such an expanse of reserve to work on it won’t be too hard to make a few small changes to the way we work at Sculthorpe. We’re really excited to welcome our volunteers back this week, and there is plenty for them to do!

It may seem a strange time to do a drive for new recruits to our volunteer scheme, but we need extra people more than ever to keep the cogs turning at Sculthorpe Moor. Be assured that it’s a safe environment to work in during these strange times. What better way to take your mind off things than by volunteering at a beautiful nature reserve?
